The Democratic Club provides opportunities to meet candidates, learn about issues, provide opportunities to get involved, and meet like-minded people.

Dean Scheinert, Executive Director, Justa Center 
Since 2006, Justa Center has focused on older adults experiencing homelessness. In its first five years, the average age of a homeless senior was 57. Today, it's 65, as more people over 70 experience homelessness for the first time. Learn about Justa Center’s impact on seniors in our community.

Jennifer Francisco, Executive Director, Matthew’s Crossing Food Bank
The Sun Lakes Democratic Club has supported this Chandler food bank since 2011. Ms. Francisco will discuss its vital programs, including Senior Food Boxes and Weekend Backpacks for students.

Claudia Mendoza, Chandler Unified School District Board Member
Elected in 2024, Ms. Mendoza, a district administrator, will provide updates on budget impacts facing CUSD.

We’ll also cover a Legislative Update on bills moving through the Arizona House and Senate.

With so many divisive issues at the legislature trying to make their way into law that directly attack and marginalize the Transgender and LGTBQ community, we need to have a presence within our Maricopa County Democratic Party where we can be a voice and advocate for this community. We aim to have a monthly meeting on The second Wednesday of each month at 7 pm via Zoom.
